THE 2013 SESAC POP MUSIC AWARDS TO HONOR TOP SONGWRITERS AND PUBLISHERS ON MAY 13 AT THE NEW YORK PUBLIC LIBRARY
(New York, NY) – SESAC, the nation’s most progressive performing rights organization, will honor the top songwriters and publishers in a range of music genres at the 2013 SESAC Pop Music Awards on Monday, May 13, 2013 at the stately New York Public Library.
The SESAC Pop Awards will honor the most popular songs of 2012 with special awards being presented to the Songwriter of the Year, Song of the Year and Publisher of the Year.
The invitation-only, red carpet gala event has established itself as one of the most popular music gatherings in the business. Each year the star studded evening features special performances from some of entertainment’s top hit-makers with attendees including some of the biggest names in music. Previously, SESAC has presented awards to the likes of Bob Dylan, Neil Diamond, Lady Antebellum, Alice In Chains, Mumford & Sons, Chrisette Michele, Bryan-Michael Cox, Kasseem “Swizz Beatz” Dean and Nate “Danja” Hills, among many others.
In 2012, megastar Usher made a surprise appearance to present songwriter/producer Rico Love with SESAC’s Songwriter of the Year honors. Songwriter Jacob Lutrell took home the Song of the Year trophy for his hit, “Tonight (I’m Lovin’ You) as recorded by Enrique Iglesias and Bryan-Michael Cox was celebrated with the Inspiration Award for his many artistic, entrepreneurial and charitable endeavors.
