Ne-yo 3rd Annaul Fostering A Legacy Benefit 2014

(NEW YORK, NY) September 14, 2014 – On Friday, September 12, 2014 New York City served as the backdrop for the Fostering a Legacy Benefit ceremony. Ne-Yo, Compound Foundation, and Event-Chair Marc Leder were proud to present this 3rd Annual Fundraiser recognizing the diligent contributions of Walgreen’s Chief Diversity Officer, Steve Pemberton, GRAMMY ® U Executive Director, Jodie Blum and the Corporate Commitment Award was presented to Porsche Cars North America, accepted by Head of Lifestlye & PR, Cristina Cheever. These 3 honorees provided touching acceptance speeches to a crowd of 350 VIP attendees, including Kevin Liles (KWL Enterprises), Ethiopia Habtemariam (Pres., Motown Records), Loraine Smith (Pres., Compound Foundation/Ne-Yo’s Mother), Mila J (Motown Recording Artist), Lisa Price (Founder, Carols Daughter), Harley Lippman (CEO, The Genesis Group), Matthew Middleton, esq, and Brian Reynolds (Founder, Chapman Capital). Upon approaching the host venue, Gotham Hall, guests were greeted by 2 Porsche vehicles onsite and a private pre-event reception. Shortly thereafter, attendees filled the main hall, with music provided by DJ Questlove. The welcoming ceremony was kicked-off by Khalilah Abdul-Baqi (Exec. Dir., Compound Foundation) and Loraine Smith, followed by event-chair Marc Leder. Jay Pharoah (Saturday Night Live cast-member) and Ne-Yo then took the stage to host a fun-filled evening honoring leaders in the foster care and adoptive community, followed by live performances by Trey Songz and Ne-Yo.
