BBWLA Gloria Govan exclusive interview with Glam coming soon!

Gloria Govan is the principal cast member of Basketball Wives LA with the second season currently in production and scheduled to premiere in September. When BBWLA premiered last August, it was an instant hit for vh1 averaging 3 million weekly viewers. The 2nd season production has been so compelling that the network recently bumped it fro 12 episodes to 15.

Gloria originally was a principal cast member of Basketball Wives Miami. After she relocated to LA the executives and producers at Vh1 decided to create the spin-off Basketball Wives LA for Gloria. Gloria is taking the opportunity and her career seriously. She has been taking acting and hosting classes for the past 2 years.

During her hiatus from Basketball wives Gloria landed a hosting job with the newly created talk show series Backstage Confidential which is begin produced by Codeblack Entertainment. Gloria completed production on 11 episodes and had the opportunity to interview superstar comedians such as Chris Tucker, Kevin Hart and Bill Bellamy. Additionally she landed a red carpet hosting spot on this year’s Trumpet Awards in Atlanta she interviewed powerhouse celebrities and inspirational leaders as entrepreneur/philanthropist Ted Turner, legendary songstress Aretha Franklin, Actor Blair Underwood and 8-time Grammy award winners Earth Wind & Fire.

Gloria just completed production on the new short film digital series called Clean Ops. The series chronicles a female assassin V (portrayed by Gloria Govan), as she eliminates undesirable targets. The story follows V who has been trained, from an early age, to be a classically trained ballerina as well as a weapons and hand to hand contact expert. The role required two months of weapons and fight training. She trained for the role with former heavyweight boxer James Toney.

Gloria is the youngest of nine children, she graduated from SFSU with a degree in Business Management. She was the starting point guard for SFSU women’s basketball team. This year she coached the Palos Verdes Girl’s High School Varsity team in which during NIKE’S 2011 Holiday Tournament her team place 5TH out of 96 teams. This past Spring she coached the team to the state finals losing in a heart-breaking game in the final seconds. Gloria Govan embraces the statement by Peter Drucker, “the best way to predict the future is to create it.
Gloria is in the final stages of completing her cookbook that she plans to release digitally this fall through iTunes and Amazon.
