2017 Image Entertainment Distinction (IED Awards)

Grammy Award Winning Reggae Artist Shaggy and Love and Hip Hop New York Personality Tara Wallace to host the 2017 5th Annual Image Entertainment Distinction (IED) Awards Show at Kings Theatre.


(New York, NY) For the past four years the Image Entertainment & Distinction Awards show honored and highlighted influential celebrities, philanthropists, business men and women who proudly serve their communities. The 2017 Image Entertainment & Distinction (IED), awards show will be no different, hosted by Grammy Award winning reggae artist, Shaggy and Tara Wallace of VH1’s hit show Love & Hip Hop New York with special performances by Jamaican legend singer, Marcia Griffiths and King of Lovers Rock British reggae star Maxi Priest.


On September 30th, the IED awards will head to Brooklyn at the magnificently restored Kings Theatre. Highlights include 2017 IED award presentations to distinctive leaders such as, Dr. Dexter Mckenzie, private care physician for over 15 years who will receive the Outstanding Achievement award, International award in Music will be given to the brilliant musically gifted Maxi Priest, and Criminal and Civil Rights Lawyers Glenn A. Gaber and Rebecca Freedman will receive the IED lifetime Humanitarian Award.  Glenn Gaber is the founder of “Exoneration Initiative”, a non-for profit non-DNA innocence organization that represent indigent wrongfully convicted New York City prisoners.


The mission of the IED Awards is to encourage, empower, and highlight individuals from all walks of life. The 5th Annual Award show will take place Saturday, September 30th, 2017 at the historic Kings Theater in Brooklyn NY. A red carpet will take place from 7-8pm and a cocktail reception preceding the Award ceremony from 8-11pm, featuring a tribute to the calypso king of the world, The Mighty Sparrow who will receive the 2017 IED Lifetime Achievement in Music.  The honorable congress woman Yvette Clarke will receive the 2017 IED Community Service Award. Guests will be entertained with one-of-a-kind performances by Soul singer Melisa Morgan,, and Gospel artist TREX. The 2017 IED Awards is produced by Jammins Entertainment and founder, celebrity blogger, and radio personality, Diva Madonna, CEO of Glamsensedivas.com.

This year’s award show includes a new category: “The IED Trailblazer Award photographer Roland Hyde. .  


The high-profile celebration will bring out high profile presenters like the honorary Consul Jamaica, Los Angeles and Assistant Treasurer of the DNC, Lorna Mae Johnson, Anne Etoke, Managing Director of the Africa Gas Association. Dr Kenneth Hall , Chrissy Monroe reality star Prakash Patil, International Model/Actor and Mr. brand Ambassador United Nation, and Model Jasmine Jazmilan Metivier. In continuing the recognition of humanitarians, the IED Award show will surprise one special person with a proclamation from the Brooklyn Borough President, Eric Adams. This year will set the standard of what’s instore for the growth of the IED Awards.
